A unique set of four glasses, outside the Dufferin County Museum these are the only examples I have ever seen, I`ve never even seen a picture of another example, this is one of the few documented non-Corn Flower cuts by WJ Hughes, called Royal Line, it was only sold in two Toronto jewelery stores (one of which was Kent jewelers on north Yonge St.) until the late 1930’s.
Cut on the same hand made blank as Hughes’ Line 73 (probably a Heisey blank), these are cut and polished, they are shown in Hughes`late 1930’s company photo-catalogue.
SIZE – These are the largest of the 7 sizes that were cut, they are 3 inches diameter x 5 inches high and hold 7 ounces.
